Fashions and trends make comebacks all the time and it seems that the things we are ‘into’ are on a conveyor belt. Nothing makes you feel older than when your remember the first time around for a something that has been revived.
Taking into account the current state of the economy I’ve put together a list of things that could (and should) make a comeback next year.
The CB Radio
CB (short for citizen band) radios were all the rage in the 70′s. I had one and so did my dad. I spent more time thinking about what my ‘handle’ (your radio name) than I did actually using it and when I did get around to using it I had no idea what I should say or who I should say it to.
The concept of the CB radio isn’t that much different to Twitter really. You say something and anyone tuned in can read and choose to reply if they want to.

DIY Haircuts
People will be looking to save a bob or two next year so do-it-yourself haircuts are bound to make a comeback. It’s usually the kids that suffer but we might see a colleague or two turn up for a work with a suspicious looking Barnet. Not rubbish enough to be super cool but too rubbish for a visit to the barbers if you know what I mean.

Dodgy Hatchback Body-kits
Hot hatches were all the rage in the 90′s but the worst car theft rates in history meant high insurance premiums for teenagers and twenty-somethings which made the real thing out of reach for most.
Buying second hand basic models with the view to doing them up and making them look much worse sportier was popular… until the insurance companies cottoned on and bumped prices up for modified cars. With that said I still think we might see a few more ‘uninsured’ suspect looking body-kits on the streets.

Glass engraving
Another childhood memory of mine was my dad, after working a long day, would come home and engrave glass tankards to order. I didn’t really pay much attention but it looked like a tricky business that involved protective eye-wear, tracing paper and a steady hand. Lets all engrave something next year!
No surprise to hear my ‘handle’ was Glass Man ( the original). Started off as a hobby engraving and got so busy it became a mill stone. Had some nice times with the CB, we used to have a thing called skip wher we could talk to people abroad and Scotland! The neighbours used to get angry when we used to interfere with their televisions. Remember Mags and Doug?? I would like to add it was you that had the mullett not me!
