Interface, branding and illustration
DB Primary was the first Learning Manager designed for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 aged children. Each application interface was designed from the ground up with the user at the centre of the process. DB Primary, a learning platform designed specifically for primary school pupils, enables children of Reception age and up to become part of today’s e-learning generation. Born out of collaboration between industry specialists, teachers and educational advisors, DB Primary allows school pupils to communicate, collaborate and learn in a secure virtual environment. Currently featured in hundreds of schools, both within the UK and abroad, DB Primary supports thousands of young learners. Discussions, tasks, learning material and resources all exist within the platform, taking advantage of learning opportunities that exist both within and outside the classroom

The email interface above was designed to focus the young user on the steps involved in sending an email with attachments. The end result was both simple and engaging.

The ‘Robopup’ character was designed as a companion for the user that would offer tips and feedback on the actions they were completing. More about the design process here.
