The future of digital content

Friday, May 20th, 2011

I’ve spent far too long writing an article for Smashing Magazine. A mixture of work commitments, lurgies, and weekends away were the main culprits for slowing the article down but I also found myself getting deeper and deeper into the subject matter.

I’m not entirely sure if the good folk at Smashing Magazine are going to publish the article so I won’t go into too much detail about it (yet) but what I will say was it was quite a fun journey. I got to chat (via email) to some clever and influential designers who’s opinions and comments I very much respect. I have a lot of love and passion for our creative industry and these people giving me some of their time reinforced that energy.

Using a Spot UV on a business card

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

I recently designed a logo and business card for London based Personal Trainer Rachel Russell. The business card used a Spot UV finish which is can be quite eye catching and create a lot of impact.

Magazine adverts from 1981 compared to 2010

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

I picked up a copy of a souvenir edition of Woman’s Own from 1981 which celebrated the marriage of Charles and Diana and I found it quite interesting looking at the adverts from that period. I don’t make a habit of buying these sorts of magazines (honest) but I decided to get hold of a recent copy of Women’s Own and compare the two.
